This exhibit uses 360° video to incorporate digital animation into the famed Winter Lights at the Shelburne Museum.

The Winter Lights at the Shelburne Museum is a landmark of the Vermont winter landscape.

During the event, the Museum is illuminated by dozens of light displays that transform the grounds into a twinkling winter wonderland.

For the 2024/25 season, the Museum reached out to incorporate animation into their famed Winter Lights event. We settled on an approach that used QR codes scattered throughout the grounds to launch 360° videos on visitor's mobile phones. Using animation, these 360° videos digitally transformed the three sites throughout the grounds in unexpected ways, providing a unique perspective for the event.

During the project process, I traveled to the Museum to capture 360° imagery of the sites. Animation was then integrated into the imagery. The 360° functionality allowed user to move their phones, changing perspective during each performance.
